Technology connect people. Using a device everyone can hear someone else's voice, see his face and easily share memories, making feel close a person that is far away. But what would happen if they could feel each other touch? What emotions a caress or a hug can produce? Would they really feel that close?

Embracelet is a wearable designed to transmit affective messages asynchronuously over distance using recorded haptics. The asynchrony feature aids to ensure that a message is received even across time-zones.

The following steps were followed:

  1. Brainstorming on solutions for the long distance problem.
  2. Conceptualization of the most promising solution, and its main features.
  3. Making a storyboard of the video prototype showcasing the main features of the product and the context of use.
  4. Preparing the filming set and shooting the video.
  5. Post-editing of the video.
